Welcome to The Shadow Wars mud!

Based on Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, this mud is a mix of roleplay, mobkill, and player killing. We have been running live and open to player for over a year, with more than five years of testing, coding and building in the baggage.

The Aiel war has come and gone, has the dragon been reborn? The Aiel folk of the three-fold lands are awaiting their Car'a'Carn while the Aes Sedai plot to find and tame him. The Children of the Light are on the move and up north, the Borderguard fight their constant and neverending struggle against the hordes of Shadowspawn.

We offer a unique set of modification to match the Wheel of Time theme better than any other mud currently running. This is where we put our pride. Roleplay is rather important but not mandatory but you will find that almost everyone does it though. Check the help files link for most available skills. Some are excluded though to keep some suprises but you can be sure that there's more than meets the eyes to each unique character.

For those unfamiliar with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, feel free to come in and play, but you might want to start out as a "warrior" or "thief" class until you get the hang of things. Robert Jordan has created a world unlike any other, yet at the same time similar to one we know well. Tor Publishing produces his books and they can be purchased online at Amazon or found at your local library. The first book in the series is "The Eye of the World."

You can connect to the game by telneting to telnetting to shadowwars.org port 4000 or by using the TELNET client here. You can also use your favorite MUD client to connect. ZMud from Zuggsoft for Windows, and tintin++ for Linux are both highly recommended.

To vote for The Shadow Wars MUD online and increase the likelyhood of other Robert Jordan Wheel of Time fans joining in the fun, you can Vote for the game at online MUD sites.

The Wheel of Time is Copyrighted by Robert Jordan and TOR books. This is a not-for-profit fan site and has no affiliation or support from the estate of Robert Jordan or TOR Publishers (however, we do hope that we encourage those interested to go buy their books).

Some of the players have asked to be able to Donate in order to help offset the cost of running the game. The Donate page has information regarding this option if you so choose. It is by no means required, nor does anyone who donates receive preferential treatment, but if you wish to contribute, please click on the Donate link.
